Today in Wanga I took probably 30 mins to find an article from google and write about it as our reflection section on fridays. So this is what I've found and decided to write about.This happens today ,Friday 13 August around 11:33 in the morning.

A Mother fed her son with milk with a toxic concoction and gave it to her young child while he was in hospital. The woman admitted that she was mixing eye drops and nasal spray with milk ,through a feeding tube before giving it to her son. She gave one at Dunedin hospital then at starship student hospital.

This really affected her son so badly that he suffered brain damage and had to be put in an induced coma.The father said initially fell under suspicion from authorities.

On Monday August 2021 the prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, said the time had come to deliver an apology for the dawn raids, when officials would target people believed to have overstayed their visas purely on the basis of their ethnicity.

The dawn raids period is a defining one in New Zealand’s history,Ardern said. To this day Pacific communities face prejudices and stereotypes.An apology can never reduce what happened, or undo the decades of disadvantage experienced as a result, but it can contribute to healing for Pacific peoples.

To accept Jacinda's apology , she was covered by a symbolic request for forgiveness during the apology ceremony.Once you are covered in the tapa cloth you are not allowed to move anywhere , you might even have to go days and months without eating or drinking . Until whoever you're apologizing accepts your apology.

Everything that Simon Sinek explained in the little clipo was 100 percent true. He was explaining how why were so addicted to social media and how social media can affects your mind and learning.One good fact that Mr Sinek said that we should charge our phone in the living room at night time so when we wake up we don't get up and check our social media, but he also point out why we need our phone at night so we don't miss our alarms for school , work or whatever things you need to get down. But then Simon said we can go  out and buy an alarm so that way we don't have to check your phone in the morning and.

Mr Sinek saids that how social media affects your life is that when you put your phone down during a meeting but you keep checking it because someone might message you so you dont put your full attention to what's going on in life you put your attention toward you phone and social media…… to be continued 

Reflecsion Section

 Today at textstyle we had to create a presentation of what you like in our recent class in textstyle. I googled my information from google because I did not know what dye designing to make. I got the idea of dying a white piece of cotton fabric then sew them together to make a scrunchie. I missed my slideshow and she told me that I need to put in more details. I sigh and go back and recreate the misunderstanding on my slide. I put in more detail and effort into my presentation I showed my textstyle teacher and she said ‘ good , good'' so I ask her what i can do next and she said I can pack 5 minutes early, Well I didn't pack up I continued on with my work in health because it was due period two. After that the bell ring which is a samoan song because it's samoan language week. Then we went off to our next class. Kakite

 What is something you learn from the video?

I learned that the hard you try becomes what you want , one day you will succeed in the process of becoming what you want . Also he said that one day he was helping his mom , because she owns a hair salon store. And whale he was working he keeps looking in the mirror and the old lady keeps staring at her and she said “ young boy I have a prophecy , A spiritual prophecy , You are going to travel the world and speak to millions of people” but he's think how when he failed his education , and his prayers was answered ………. But then the old lady was right and one day he became a successful businessman .

What is something you see that can change your life ?

Something about the video that can change my life is that if you fail that fail will one day become successful if you try harder and never giving up on you dreams and goals, Finally one day all you want will be success 

Tell me about Denzel Washington and his life 

Washington was born on December 28, 1954, in Mount Vernon, New York. He is the son of a Pentecostal minister and a beauty shop owner and has two siblings. ... Washington later won a scholarship to the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, and afterward worked with the Shakespeare in the Park ensemble. Denzel Wahington is now a professional actor .

Diffrent types of gas experiments

Testing for Hydrogen Gas

Metal + Acid = metal salt + hydrogen

Magnesium + Sulfuric Acid = magnesium sulfate + hydrogen 

Equipment: A test tube, a boiling tube, bunsen burner, wooden splint, a bottle of acid, a piece of metal, safety glasses.

Method:

• Light a bunsen burner

• Add your sample of metal to your test tube add sml of acid

• carefully invert the boiling tube above the test tube containing the metal and acid ( as shown in the diagram below)

• Hold the test tube together for a few minutes allowing time for the inverted boiling tube fill with gas

• When you think the tube is full, your lab partner should light a wooden splint.

• Carefully , but quickly, titl the boiling tube full of gas upwards and insert the burning splint into the mouth of the test tube

Conclusion :When we light the wooden splint with fire and put in the mouth of the tube it made a sound a popping sound

Metal + acid = Metal Salt + Hydrogen (Poptest)

Metal + Oxygen = Metal Oxide

Metal Oxide + Hydrogen Peroxide = Metal Hydroxide + Oxygen ( Glowing Splint)

Making a Metal Oxide

Aim: To make a metal oxide and observe the different in properties of the product compared to the reactants

Equipment:A piece of magnesium, Bunsen burner, safety glasses, metal scissor tog

Method :

• Light the bunsen burner

• hold the piece of magnesium in the scissor tongs. Ensure you are holding onto the very tip of the magnesium.

• place the other end of the magnesium into the bunsen flame(at the top of the blue flame)

• when the magnesium begins to burn, do not look directly at it, as the light emitted can permanently damage your eyes

Conclusion : When we light up the magnesium we had to look away because the light was to bright your eyes might get infected 

Testing For Carbon Dioxide Gas 

Aim: To show that carbon dioxide gas is produced  when a metal carbonate reacts with acid

Equipment: Two boiling tubes, delivery tube and bung, Bunsen burner, test tube rack,wooden splint, a bottle of acid, small amount of metal carbonate, test tube tongs safety glasses.

Method: 

• Light your bunsen burner
•  Add a pea - sized amount of the metal carbonate into one of the boiling tubes
• Place this boiling tube into a test tube rack. Ensure you have the bung and delivery tube ready
• Add 5 ml of acid to the boiling tube and quickly insert the bung and delivery tube into the mouth of the boiling tube
• Holding the other boiling tube with your tongs, capture the gas produced as shown in the diagram below
• When you think the tube is full, your lab partner should light a wooden splint
• Carefully remove the boiling tube for under the delivery tube taking care to keep it facing upright
• Insert the burning splint into the mouth of the test tube

Conclusion :

As soon as we put the half of the tube the the lime juice it bubbled up and the lime juice kinda went cloudy.
